The Landry family owns 60ha of land, vineyards alternate with Landes forest as well as meadow and grassland where horses and cows graze peacefully. Christophe knows each parcel of his vineyard inside out, feeling closer to Burgundy in spirit than Bordeaux. Only the best lieux-dits are retained, he doesn’t believe in second wines, if a parcel isn’t good enough then he sells it on.
He returned to his family estate in Bordeaux in the mid-1990s, where he works tirelessly in the vineyard and the winery to create some of the best value for money wines around at all levels. His wines offer a clear, bright black cherry colour, a kernel of rich fruit with great depth, and superb texture with good freshness and marked mineral flavours. Very, very long on the finish. Ridge Lytton Springs Magnum

Lytton Springs is home to 100-plus-year-old zinfandel vines interplanted with petite sirah, carignane, a small amount of mataro (mourvèdre), and grenache. For decades, the field blend from this site has produced the quintessential example of Dry Creek Valley zinfandel. Lytton Springs is a prime example of Ridge’s commitment to championing Heritage varietals, varietals planted more than a century ago and surviving in numerous locations. They honour the individual character of these vines by fermenting each variety and each lot separately using natural yeast fermentation, letting the wines undergo natural malolactic, and employing minimal egg white fining.

Perched atop a limestone plateau overlooking the Dordogne, this historic estate commands 16 hectares of organic-certified vineyards with sweeping river views. The beautifully restored château, tragically damaged in a 2022 fire, remains in the devoted care of owner Thomas Sullivan.
Since acquiring Gaby in 2016, Sullivan has deepened the estate’s organic commitment while preserving its winemaking heritage. The south-facing limestone slopes yield wines of remarkable elegance, a testament to both exceptional terroir and thoughtful stewardship during this chapter of renewal.
